Ambitious climate policy in Europe will become even more difficult in the future. Following the presidential election in Poland with the victory of right-wing conservative Karol Nawrocki, opponents of new climate measures and targets are gaining momentum. Even the liberals in Poland are critical of the EU plans for a 90% climate target for 2040, while the right-wing conservatives are almost completely opposed to Brussels’ climate policy.
