Exactly two months after the attempted coup against the Russian army leadership by the Wagner mercenary group, the leader of the coup, Yevgeny Prigozhin, is reported to have died in a plane crash. This could be the temporary end of a power struggle at the top of the Russian army.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the Russian president’s right-hand man for particularly dirty military operations, was thought to be dead once before: in October 2019, he reportedly died in a plane crash in the Democratic Republic of Congo. That was a canard.
