Should cities, municipalities or the federal government be obliged to award public contracts based on social criteria in future? At least that is what the Employment Committee (EMPL) in the European Parliament wants to achieve in the upcoming reform of public procurement law. Companies should be given preference in public procurement if they pay according to collective agreements, the EMPL demands in its statement on the public procurement reform.
