The European left is reorganizing

Marc Botenga from the Marxist Belgian Labor Party is calling for a break with the EU Commission’s „anti-social policy.“

Thanks to rising poll ratings, the far-left parties are confident about the European elections. However, internal power struggles and differences of opinion on foreign policy are likely to make forming a coalition more difficult.

It is a paradox: in Germany and many other EU countries, the left-wing parties are in retreat ahead of the European elections. But in Brussels of all places, the capital of the EU, the radical left is making strong gains.
