More than 25 years after the end of the Congo War, the United States is once again recognizing the global significance of Africa. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently completed a four-day trip to Africa, visiting Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Angola. Prior to this, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi toured the continent. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who avoids foreign travel due to the war in Ukraine, hosted Mahamat Idriss Déby.
