Thomas Langkabel seems like a quiet person. But he can and will not hide his enthusiasm for digital technologies. He actually studied aerospace engineering at the University of the German Armed Forces in Munich. The switch to IT then came about almost by chance. Someone had to design a concept for the Bundeswehr’s initially uncoordinated IT infrastructure. And so the „young, fresh people from the university who were already dealing with this weird stuff“ were put in charge, he recalls with a smile. Thomas Langkabel was one of those young people, today he is National Technology Officer at Microsoft Germany.
