Former Lieutenant General Martin Schelleis was Inspector of the Armed Forces Base, the second largest military organizational unit of the Bundeswehr, until spring 2024. He calls for every young person in Germany to contribute to security.

In your first life, you were, among other things, National Territorial Commander in the German Armed Forces; now you are Special Representative for Crisis Resilience at Malteser. What strikes you most from this new perspective with regard to the turning point?
