The Green Claims Directive will establish a legally sound procedure for the verification of voluntary environmental claims made on products, said MEP Delara Burkhardt (SPD). Speaking to Table.Briefings, the Parliament’s rapporteur rejected criticism from German business associations. „The Green Claims Directive will set clear requirements for how environmental claims must be substantiated,“ she said on Wednesday, „and will thus create greater clarity and legal certainty.“
