The end of Assad’s rule over Syria is therefore good news.“ US President-elect Donald Trump wrote that Assad’s protector Vladimir Putin was „no longer interested“ in „protecting him.“ Syria’s second protecting power Iran is also in a weakened state „because of Israel and its figthing success,“ Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform.
