The European Commission’s consultation on competition rules for vertical agreements in the automotive industry is open until May 23. The consultation is taking place against the backdrop of the ongoing evaluation of the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation (Kfz-GVO) and the supplementary guidelines. The Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation was extended in 2023 until May 31, 2028. Vertical agreements are agreements between several companies operating at different levels of the production and distribution chain.
