The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs (BMWi) has put out a call for tenders on the federal procurement portal for research work that is to examine legal and technical criteria for broadly usable online consent management and offer proposals for implementation. According to the tender documents, this is to be preparatory work for a regulation on the Telecommunications- Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG) passed in the spring. The law will come into force on December 1, the implementing regulation is still being prepared.
