Four CDU/CSU members will head the Bundestag’s committees for defense, foreign affairs, human rights and economic cooperation and development. Armin Laschet (Foreign Affairs Committee), Thomas Röwekamp (Defense), and Mechthild Heil (Human Rights and Humanitarian Aid) are considered to be set; prior to the constituent meetings this Wednesday, it was still unclear which CDU/CSU member would chair the Development Aid Committee.
