CBAM: ENVI confirms simplification.

CBAM concerns imports of cement, iron and steel, aluminium, fertilizers, electricity and hydrogen.

The EU Parliament’s Environment Committee has confirmed the simplifications to the CBAM proposed by the Commission. The entire plenary still has to vote before the trilogue begins.

The simplification of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) has cleared another hurdle. The EU Parliament’s Environment Committee (ENVI) has approved the simplifications to the CBAM proposed by the Commission. MEPs adopted the Commission’s unchanged text with 85 votes in favor, one against and one abstention.
