The CDU/CSU parliamentary group has named its foreign and security policy team for the Bundestag, nominating Thomas Röwekamp as Chairman of the Defense Committee. Röwekamp, an MP from Bremen, emphasized his goal of reconnecting the Bundeswehr more closely with German society. A Bundestag member since 2021, Röwekamp previously chaired the Afghanistan Investigation Committee and was active on the Defense Committee.
