Commission wants better protection for journalists

Although the European Union is considered one of the safest places for journalists, attacks on media representatives, both offline and online, are on the rise. Last year, the European Commission counted 908 cases. To counteract this development, the authority yesterday adopted a recommendation „on the protection, safety and empowerment of journalists.“
