Commission: X is not a gatekeeper

X has argued that it does not meet the criteria for a gatekeeper under the DMA. The Commission has now followed suit.

The Commission has completed its market investigation and decided that X (formerly Twitter) is not a central platform within the meaning of the DMA. This means that X no longer has to fulfill the requirements as a gatekeeper.

Online service X is not a gatekeeper within the meaning of the Digital Markets Act (DMA). The Commission announced this decision on Wednesday. It is based on a detailed market investigation initiated by the Brussels authority in May 2024.
