The Düsseldorf-based defense contractor Rheinmetall has received approval from the South African authorities to establish a subsidiary in South Africa. Rheinmetall will acquire 51 percent of the shares in the joint venture Rheinmetall Resonant South Africa (Pty) Ltd., with the remaining 49 percent being held by the existing shareholders of Resonant Holding. Rheinmetall expects sales of EUR 100 million per year. Rheinmetall had already announced its intention to acquire a majority stake in the South African holding company in August 2024.
