The former head of the regional government Carles Puigdemont has filed a lawsuit with the ECJ because he wants to be recognized as a member of the European Parliament.

Catalan separatist leader Carles Puigdemont was elected to the European Parliament in 2019. However, because he was not accepted as an MEP, he filed a complaint with the ECJ – without success.
