EDF demands priority for climate neutrality

The head of the French energy group EDF, Jean-Bernard Lévy, has called for clear priorities in decarbonization. He said the EU Commission must explain whether climate neutrality will have priority in the future or whether the rules of the internal market will continue to apply. This is crucial for investments in carbon-neutral energies, Lévy said in a debate at the economic policy think tank Bruegel in Brussels. „There is a conflict between priorities there,“ Lévy said. Protecting the climate must take precedence over internal market rules, he said.
