EU-USA: TTC will take place as planned

The kick-off meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will take place next Wednesday as planned. This was announced by a spokeswoman of the EU Commission on Twitter late Thursday evening. Vice Presidents Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovskis will participate in the meeting on the EU side, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Trade Representative Katherine Tai on the US side. As planned, Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton, who had recently caused irritation with his call for pausing the talks, will not be at the table. Commission Vice-President Margrethe Vestager emphasized in the evening that strategic alliances are there to form common approaches and to overcome difficulties.
