EP Plenary session - Election of the new EP President Roberta Metsola — Roberta Metsola, President of the European Parliament, wants to reform the administration.

„Parliament 2024“ is the title of a reform program aiming to improve the way the Parliament functions and affects the work of MEPs. Now the reforms are to be transferred to the administration. To this end, the Directorate-General for Internal Policies (DG IPOL) is to be split into four Directorates-General.

The Bureau of the European Parliament, in which Parliament President Roberta Metsola and the 14 Vice-Presidents are represented, is negotiating a reform of the Parliament’s administration. The Directorate-General for Internal Policies (DG IPOL) is to be split into four Directorates-General (DGs) with thematic responsibilities.
