According to a survey, a large proportion of citizens in several EU countries want strict laws that make companies liable for human rights violations and environmental destruction abroad. The opinion research institute YouGov published the results of a study from nine EU countries in the run-up to an announced legislative proposal by the EU Commission. This proposal aims to redefine due diligence obligations in the area of human rights and environmental protection for all companies operating in the EU.
