The Federal Audit Office has called on the Ministry of Defence to correct its personnel structure and make far-reaching changes to its organization. In a recent special report, the budget auditors criticize „top-heaviness“ and call for „more troops“ for the core military mission. They also warn of the risk that the „signal of unlimited debt possibilities“ will lead to rising prices in the defense sector. The authority states: „Incentives for the industry to demand higher prices for the same services are to be expected due to the almost unlimited availability of financial resources and increased demand.“
