G7: progress on global tax reform

The G7 finance ministers have taken a step forward with their plans for a global minimum tax. At a meeting on Wednesday, the ministers had agreed on important outstanding issues, said a spokesman for British Finance Minister Rishi Sunak. Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso had earlier said they had reached an agreement on some issues. Next week, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the G20 countries will discuss the minimum tax issue.
