The EU Commission wants to intensify trade relations with Mexico.

The EU and Mexico have concluded negotiations for a renewal of the global agreement. An amendment to the energy chapter had delayed the conclusion for years. The Commission pushed through lower agricultural import quotas and protection against Chinese EVs.

On Friday afternoon, the EU Commission announced another trade policy success. Shortly before Donald Trump’s inauguration, it concluded negotiations to deepen the current global agreement with Mexico.
