HERA: EU Commission unveils new health authority

The European Commission unveiled a new EU health crisis authority on Thursday. The European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA) is designed to anticipate hazards more efficiently in the future and ensure the development, production and distribution of, for example, medicines and vaccines in the event of an emergency.
