Hungary’s President Novák resigned at the weekend following the controversial pardon.
Hungary’s President Novák and former Justice Minister Varga have resigned following a controversial pardon. Both were prominent Fidesz politicians, with Varga slated to lead the European Parliament election list.

Hungarian President Katalin Novák resigned on Saturday after coming under mounting pressure for pardoning a man convicted of helping to cover up sexual abuse in a children’s home.
