Hydrogen buildup: industry relies on natural gas

According to industrial companies, Germany cannot do without using natural gas for the time being in building its hydrogen business. „As long as hydrogen from renewable energies is not available in sufficient quantities and at attractive prices, we will also need hydrogen from natural gas to rapidly build up the market,“ the head of oil and gas company Wintershall, Mario Mehren, said on Wednesday at a congress of the electricity and gas lobby association (BDEW) in Berlin.
