IEA: investment in renewables must triple

According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), investment in renewable energy must triple by the end of the decade. „The world is not investing enough to meet its future energy needs,“ the IEA’s World Energy Outlook 2021, unveiled on Wednesday, said, adding that while spending was gradually increasing, it was falling far short of demand. „Clear signals and direction from policymakers are essential. If the road ahead is paved only with good intentions, it will be a bumpy ride indeed,“ the authors of the IEA annual report write.
