Following the publication of the global „Roadmap to Net Zero“ in May, the International Energy Agency (IEA) has now developed a country-specific roadmap for China. The horrendous increase in fossil fuels in recent decades must now be followed by an equal increase in renewable energies for growing power generation, IEA Director General Fatih Birol said Wednesday at the presentation of the roadmap. The Chinese government aims to peak emissions in 2030 and become carbon-neutral by 2060, called the „30/60 target“ in China.
