Microchips: BDI warns Breton against wrong focus

For EU Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton, semiconductors with ultra-small structure sizes of less than five nanometers are „the true market of the future.“ The Federation of German Industries, however, warns against focusing too much on this area: Mastering smaller structure sizes of less than ten nanometers is „no longer the measure of all things and especially not decisive for economic success,“ the BDI writes in a new position paper.
