The operators of the controversial Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea gas pipeline have filled the first of the two strings with technical gas. The pressure generated in the process is sufficient to start transporting gas at a later date, Nord Stream 2 AG announced yesterday. Preparations are already underway to test the second pipeline, the subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom added.
