Nuclear power: Germany drops resistance in Brussels

According to Reiche, nuclear energy should be considered a green technology at the EU level. Under the new government, Germany is no longer opposing France and other member states that have for years been pushing to recognize nuclear power as sustainable alongside renewables. „We’ve agreed that low-carbon and carbon-free energy sources should be prioritized,“ Reiche said on the sidelines of the Competitiveness Council yesterday. The term „low-carbon energies“ is commonly used as a synonym for nuclear energy.
