At a plenary session of the European Parliament on Monday on the EU Commission’s „omnibus“ proposals, no compromises between the democratic political camps emerged. For the EPP Group, Tobias Tobé called the Commission’s proposals on sustainability reporting (CSRD), supply chain regulation (CSDDD) and sustainable investments (taxonomy) a „step in the right direction“. The EU Commission presented the „Sustainability Omnibus“ at the end of February. Tobé accused the Social Democrats (S&D) of committing to cutting red tape but not mentioning any specific points that they would agree to.
