Privacy Shield: Jourová urges caution

Negotiations around an improved Privacy Shield agreement between the EU and the US are not yet ready, Věra Jourová, Commission Vice President for Values and Transparency, said yesterday at a digital event. „We need more time, maybe several months, to conclude the negotiations,“ she said. From the European side, she said, they are very cautious. Because they know exactly: „We won’t be able to sign anything that doesn’t guarantee we will not see Schrems III things at the ECJ at some point, which then annul the new system.“
