Due to the massive increase in energy prices, the logistics association BGL warns of far-reaching consequences for the industry. Diesel prices alone have risen by around 58 percent in the space of a year, the German Road Haulage, Logistics and Waste Management Association said on Thursday. „Due to the low-profit margins in road haulage, transport companies that do not manage to pass on the cost increases risk their existence,“ warned BGL head Dirk Engelhardt. In the long term, the economy and ultimately also consumers would have to prepare for rising prices.
