Roswall and Lahbib: Deal secures confirm • Table.Briefings

„After careful consideration“, the Social Democrats are „sure that she is capable of doing the job“, they said after Jessika Roswall’s hearing.

Doubts about their suitability were raised during the hearings. However, Jessika Roswall and Hadja Lahbib have now been confirmed as Commissioners for the Environment and for Gender Equality respectively. Part of the compromise was the composition of the upgraded Health Committee.

After a lengthy negotiation process, the future Environment Commissioner Jessika Roswall (EPP) was confirmed in the European Parliament on Wednesday. The two-thirds majority in the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI) was achieved by the votes of the EPP, ECR, S&D, Renew and the Greens.
