The EU Commission apparently only wants to ban perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl compounds (PFAS) in a specific product group. Industry Commissioner Stéphane Séjourné told the EU Parliament’s Environment Committee on Tuesday that it was in the process of banning PFAS in products for human consumption. However, he did not want to restrict them in the industrial sector, and for critical applications where the necessary alternatives do not yet exist.
