There is a considerable shortage of staff in many care professions in particular. The Talent Pool could help to bring companies and jobseekers from non-EU countries together.

The EU wants to tackle the shortage of skilled workers with the Talent Pool, a kind of Tinder for jobseekers – and at the same time create legal pathways into the EU for migrants willing to work. The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE) wants improvements in the interests of jobseekers.

A kind of Tinder for job-seeking third-country nationals is moving closer. The Justice Committee (LIBE) in the European Parliament has spoken out in favor of establishing the EU Talent Pool. The corresponding compromise text received 46 votes in favor in the committee on Wednesday; 25 parliamentarians voted against, two abstained.
