Timmermans promotes climate alliance in Washington

During a visit to the US capital, Frans Timmermans spoke out in favor of greater cooperation in the fight against climate change. At the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, the Vice President of the EU Commission particularly promoted the European idea of emissions trading. Pricing carbon, he said, is the best way to put the global economy on the path to decarbonization and provide financial incentives. Moreover, he said, it is enormously attractive for the US economy to rely on climate-friendly industry and mobility. It was just a matter of will, he said.
