The EU Commission is preparing for a protracted trade conflict with the USA. The outlook is moving „towards a situation in which tariffs remain in place,“ said a high-ranking Commission official. In this longer-term perspective, it may be necessary to react to the unilateral change in trade relations by the United States and to establish a new balance through its own counter-tariffs.
