Since the last seat projection at the end of January, there has been some movement in the political mood in Europe: There were federal elections in Germany and the national presidential elections in Romania and Poland in May. In Portugal, parliament was dissolved and new elections will also be held in May. The dynamics of these changes did not always point in the same direction. For example, the German left made strong gains in the federal elections, while the Portuguese left-wing parties got off to a rather weak start in their national election campaign.
