100 percent renewable electricity by 2035 – that is the promise of Kenya’s new climate target (NDC), which was recently published. In addition, the country’s greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by 35% by then. The NDC has been praised by experts, with many describing it as a possible „blueprint“ for other African countries. It is particularly emphasized that Kenya wants to intervene in all sectors and decision-making processes with its NDC.
