US research data: Why saving stocks may only be the beginning.

Protests against cuts and job losses in the US science sector in Washington, D.C. include a demonstration supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration NOAA.

Since the restriction of scientific freedom under the Trump administration, the University of Bremen and the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) in Bremerhaven have begun to secure data sets from the USA on the Pangaea platform. According to the institutions, the initial focus is on historical data sets on earthquakes and hot springs from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This is in response to „urgent calls for help“ from American colleagues.
