The Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced that it will sign a strategic agreement with China’s Atomic Energy Authority to construct the country’s first subcritical nuclear reactor. According to a report by local news outlet 964media, the project – undertaken in cooperation with China – is primarily aimed at education and training in nuclear physics, as well as the use of radiation technologies for peaceful purposes.
