From July 1, France will ban smoking in public areas such as beaches, parks and gardens, around schools, bus stops and sports facilities. Smoking will be banned by decree in order to protect children, announced Health Minister Catherine Vautrin in an interview with the newspaper Ouest France. Anyone who violates the new smoking ban will have to pay a fine of €135.
