The cause is a fatal accident in which three female students crashed a Xiaomi SU7 into concrete barriers on the highway in late March. The SU7’s Level 2 driving assistant is believed to have been active until shortly before the collision. The debate revolves around clarifying where the capabilities of supposedly smart new-energy vehicles (NEVs) end and the driver’s responsibility begins.
