The European Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) levies are to be postponed to February 2027 instead of early 2026 as originally planned. This is stated in the EU Commission’s draft revision of the CBAM, which is available to Table.Briefings and will be presented on Wednesday (February 26). CBAM could cause problems, particularly in trade with China. Beijing sees the EU mechanism as a form of protectionism.
