Russia: Xi and Putin speak shortly after Trump’s inauguration

Russia and China want to deepen their strategic partnership further. In a video broadcast a few hours after Donald Trump took office, Xi called the Russian president his „dear friend.“ Putin reaffirmed China’s claim to Taiwan, among other things.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin exchanged views on the state of bilateral relations in a video call and conveyed their mutual congratulations on the Chinese New Year.
