The European elections this year and the subsequent formation of a new EU Commission will also decide the fate of the European Green Deal – an excellent opportunity to take stock. The scientific community has just done this, and lo and behold, the EU legislation on Europe’s path to net zero by 2050 has some gaps, writes Lukas Scheid.
